Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is at the west end of St. James's Park, and was built in 1825 by the order of George Iv. The Queen holds her Drawing Rooms here, and also resides here when in London. There is only in exceptional cases permission given to view the interior of the palace, when queen is out of town; but the Royal Mews may be viewed by applying to the Master of the Horse for an order. The stables, the coach. houses, and the grand State carriage, designed in 1762 for George Iii costing nearly £7,000, are worth seeing.
