Chelsea On the left bank of the Thames, three miles from London. here, at 24, formerly 5, Cheyne Row, lived Thomas Carlyle, the author; he died here on February 5th, 1881, and his house is now fitted up as a memorial museum, open from 10 a. m. till sunset, The rare old Chelsea china was made here at the waterside.
