Crystal Palace


Crystal Palace (the), Sydenham. about 7 miles from London. The large building used in Hyde Park for the Great Exhibition in 1851 The Palace is reached by frequent trains from London Bridge, Victoria, Holborn, and Ludgate Hill. Concerts, Dramatic Entertainments, Flower Shows, Cricket and other Matches, and a variety of Exhibitions are held here during the year, and Brock's Fireworks are a feature of the Summer Season (especially on Thursday evenings). The Palace and Grounds cover about 200 acres.
