Foundling Hospital

Foundling Hospital Guilford Street, W. c. One of the most interesting Charities in London, and every one should go and see it. Founded in 1739 by the gentle. hearted Captain Thomas Coram, with the object of feeding, clothing, and educating little children in destitute circumstances. These may be seen every Sunday at the morning service in the large Chapel attached to the Home. Strangers are freely admitted on payment of a small offering at the doors. The music and singing are very beautiful. After church, visitors can see the children at dinner; also they can see over a handsome suite of apartments containing many great curiosities, including some very celebrated pictures by Reynolds, Gainsborough, Hogarth, Wilson, etc. The very youngest children are kept at another house in the country. Sunday service at 11 am. Nearest Railway Station, King's Cross.
