Haymarket

Haymarket (the), a street leading from Pall Mall, is noted as being the Centre of the late. hour life of the West End. The old Haymarket Theatre, so long under the management of Mr. Buckstone, was reconstructed by Mr. (now Sir Squire) Bancroft, and was for some years under his management and his popular wife (once Miss Marie Wilton). Mr. Tree succeeded as lessee, and he has now removed to the new Theatre, Her Majesty's, opposite, close to which is the great Hotel, the "carlton," one of the modern public palaces of London. The Haymarket Theatre is still open for good class Comedies, etc. , under new and successful management.
