Henley Royal Regatta

Henley Royal Regatta This favourite event takes place usually about the beginning of July. The course is a little over a mile and a quarter in length, and the races are rowed from Regatta Island, just below Remenham, against the stream, to a point opposite the Red Lion and just below the bridge. It is considered the most important of the Thames Regattas, and crews from the leading London clubs and the Universities compete. It is largely attended, and the view of the crowded river at Regatta time is very pretty and animated.
