High Barnet is about is 11 miles from London by rail. At Hadley, near here, the Battle of Barnet was ought in 1471, when the Earl of Warwick was slain; this was the last conflict but one between the Red and White Roses. Hadley Woods are a favourite spot for picnics, etc. |
