Highgate

Highgate One of the Northern Heights of London; still retains much of its old. world appearance, although like all other suburbs being attacked by the demon builder. The spire of the Parish Church overlooking the Cemetery is a conspicuous object for many miles. Has many old residential houses and a large Public School. highgate Woods, bought by the Corporation of London for the people, are delightful, close to Highgate Station, G. n. r. , so also the Queen's Wood quite adjacent, opened by the Duchess of Albany, and under the charge, with many rigid restrictions and iron railings, of the Hornsey District Council.
