Holloway College
Holloway College (the Royal). founded in 1883 by the late Mr. Thomas Holloway, proprietor of the well. known Pills and Ointment, is situated at Mount Lee, Egham, Surrey; is built in the style of the French Renaissance; its object is to supply the most suitable education for women of the middle and upper middle classes Residence is ordinarily restricted to three years, but the governors have power to admit non. resident students.
The fees are uniform for all residents. The first board of management included the Archbishop of Canterbury and Earl Granville. The building was opened by the Queen in 1886, and contains a collection of pictures by Millais, Landseer, Frith, Constable, and other eminent artists.
