Metropolitan Fire Brigade (the) . is under the control of the London County Council, the Headquarters being in Southwark Bridge Road, with quarters in every large district in London. When a fire breaks out in the City, or to any large extent anywhere, the sight of the firemen galloping through the streets with their engines is a very animated one. |
