Natural History Museum


Natural History Museum (the), Cromwell Road, South Kensington Contains the Natural History Collections of the British Museum. Is a handsome building, built on part of the site of the Great Exhibition of 1862 It is 675 feet in length, and has two towers 192 feet high. The Goat Hall is 170 feet long.

The departments are Botanical, Mineralogical, Zoological, Geological, and Ornithological. The hatter, shouting the nesting habits of British birds, is particularly interesting. Admission daily, free, from 10 to 4 and 5 Sundays open at 2. 30.
