Oxford Street


Oxford Street A splendid long street with good shops, leading from Holborn to Bayswater. Several important streets lead out of it, and in about the middle of it is an open space called Oxford Circus, where it crosses Regent Street, another grand street. Oxford Street contains some very good shops, such as Marshall & Snelgrove's, Peter Robinson's, John Lewis', D. Evans', well. known drapers. Jay's well. known fashionable mourning house is in Oxford Circus, leading into Regent Street.
