South Kensington Museum

South Kensington Museum now called the Victoria and Albert. stands on 12 acres of ground acquired by the Government at a cost of £60,000, purchased by the Commissioners of the Exhibition of 1851 out of the surplus proceeds of that undertaking.

This Museum and its surroundings may be justly called the centre of the world of education. After many years the new frontage is being built which will complete the series of museums, etc. , of which this neighbourhood is the centre.

Nearest Railway Station, South Kensington.
