Virginia Water
Virginia Water A very pretty piece of ornamental water near Windsor, and well worth a visit. It was formed in 1746 by the Duke of Cumberland, the victor at Culloden, to drain the surrounding I nod. It can be reached from Waterloo Station. Near here the late Mr. Holloway has erected a sanatorium for the insane, and the Holloway College for the Higher Education of Women, at a cost of a quarter of a million of money. |
