Whitehall Opposite Horse Guards. erected by Indigo Jones. The banqueting. room is the only remaining part of the Royal Palace of Whitehall. King Charles I. was beheaded here. It is probable that the War Office will be moved to new buildings here, immediately opposite the Horse Guards. |
