About Lords Cricket Ground

Lords Cricket Ground has long been seen as the 'home of cricket' and the game's spiritual 'headquarters'.

For nearly 200 years it has played a key role in promoting cricket - both in Britain and elsewhere.

It was founded in 1814 by Thomas Lord and initially hosted matches of the Universities, Eton and Harrow.

Later it became world famous as it regularly hosted and continues to host Test matches and one day internationals.

Lord's is the property of the Marylebone Cricket Club and is the home of Middlesex County Cricket Club, and the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Nearest tube station: St. John's Wood

Also Chiltern railway line runs under the practice ground at the Nursery End.

Lord's used to have its own tube station but this closed in 1939.
