About Queen Elizabeth Hall - South Bank Centre

Each year, the South Bank Centre attracts over 3 million visitors to its world class performances of music, dance and literature, free foyer events, and range of riverside shops and restaurants. It is the home of the UK's leading orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and also welcomes top ensembles, conductors and soloists from around the globe. Performers in the 2005/06 classical season include mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter, the Emerson String Quartet, the Tallis Scholars, and conductors Vladimir Ashkenazy, Charles Dutoit and Kurt Masur.

Nearest Underground: Waterloo

From York Road exit cross the footbridge toward the Southbank (you should see the London Eye). The RFH is to the right (east) of London Eye and Hungerford Bridge, but to the left (west) of Waterloo Bridge.

Nearest Rail: Waterloo

Parking: There is very limited free parking in the vicinity, but there are three pay car parks on the Southbank at Hungerford Bridge, Under the Hayward Gallery and Under the Royal National Theatre.

ACCESS

Wheelchair Access: Enter the building via the main riverside entrance on the ground floor, adjacent to parking spaces and drop off point for taxis, coaches and Dial-a-Ride. The main doors are rather heavy and wheelchair users may find them difficult to open without assistance.

Hearing Impaired: A Sennheiser infra-red hearing facility is available in the Royal Festival Hall auditorium.
