 This grandest of grand operas, with its spectacular crowd scenes and succession of unforgettable melodies, including Celeste Aida and The Triumphal March, is a beautifully constructed drama of passion, revenge and sacrifice.
Director Jo Davies and renowned British fashion designer Zandra Rhodes create an extravagantly opulent world against which intense personal struggles are played out. This revival of last season's sell-out success for ENO sees the triumphant return of Claire Rutter as Aida, John Hudson as Radames and Iain Paterson as Amonasro.
