A View From The Bridge
Event location: Duke of York's Theatre. Ongoing event.
Written in 1955 and not seen in the West End since 1995, A View from the Bridge centres on Eddie Carbone (Stott), a head-strong longshoreman who, having helped raise his wife's niece Catherine, now finds himself sexually attracted to her.
Consequently, when Catherine begins dating Rodolpho, the younger of his wife's two cousins who have been taken in by the Carbones after illegally entering the country, Eddie gets jealous¦
Stott's theatre credits include Cymbeline, The Rose Tattoo, Death of a Salesman, The Misanthrope, the original West End production of Yasmina Reza's Art, Heroes and most recently, Reza's The God of Carnage (opposite Ralph Fiennes). On screen, he has appeared in Rebus, Messiah, Uncle Adolf, The Vice (TV); Casanova, The Mighty Celt and Shallow Grave (film).
As well as A View from the Bridge, Miller's numerous other works include All My Sons, Death of a Saleman, The Crucible, The Man Who Had All the Luck, After the Fall, Resurrection Blues, The Last Yankee and Broken Glass.
A View from the Bridge will be directed by Lindsay Posner whose previous West End credits include Fiddler on the Roof, A Life in the Theatre, Oleanna, Fool for Love, The Birthday Party and the forthcoming Carousel which transfers to the Savoy Theatre in December.
A View from the Bridge will be designed by Christopher Oram, with lighting by Peter Mumford.
