Asia Economies and the G20 Summit Debate
Event location: Asia House. Ongoing event.
Debate with George Magnus and Guy de Jonquières
Doors 5.45pm
How is the global financial crisis affecting the economies of Asia? What contribution will the leaders of China, India, Korea, Japan and Indonesia be making to the G20 summit in London this week? Asia House invites two experts on global finance - George Magnus, the international economist who predicted the financial crisis in 2007, and acclaimed financewriter Guy de Jonquières - to discuss these questions and explore the issues facing world leaders at this summit. They consider the risks and opportunities of the global downturn and reveal how decisions made in London may have repercussions across Asia.
George Magnus is Senior Economic Advisor at UBS Investment Bank.
Guy de Jonquières is a Senior Fellow at ECIPE in Brussels and former World Trade Editor of the Financial Times.
