In 1814 Lord Byron accompanied Miss Hanson, the daughter of Hanson of Berkeley Square, to church, gave her away to the Earl of Portsmouth, and subsequently returned to the house, "congratulated the family and bridegroom, drank a bumper of wine (wholesome sherris) to their felicity, and all that, — and came home."
