THE MONUMENTS

The three monuments in front of the palace are, respectively, Oliver Cromwell, by Sir Hamo Thornycroft (before Westminster Hall), Richard Coeur-de-Lion, by Marochetti, in Old Palace Yard; and the Burghers of Calais, by Rodin, which was presented by the National Arts Collection Fund, and, at Rodin's request, placed before the Victoria Tower, in the adjoining garden.
