About Fringe

Funky-as-you-like, the Fringe nestles among the small shopfronts of North Laine, offering decadent drinks and wholesome food when you most need it. An upstairs café and bar serves breakfasts, burgers, live DJ music and best of all, cocktails. Cocktail fans have been known to have hours of fun creating their own concoctions at the staff’s invitation. "The idea is to give customers more choice and to make the whole process of picking cocktails fun," says owner, Jon. While the drinks can be as fancy as your imagination allows, the food is far simpler - fresh, seasonal and rustic. A new menu is written up on chalk boards every day. Starters have included an earthy salmon mousse on toasted granary bread, while mains include burgers and vegetarian dishes. Sundays roasts here are legendary. Fringe is the type of place you can pop into for coffee, have a bite to eat or linger over cocktails. A small terrace serves generous portions of fresh air and street views.
