About Tugga

A welcome addition to the chic, hip bars of King's Road, Tugga looks good enough to eat. Designed by the same talent behind Buddha Bar in Paris, Tugga has ravishing walls which are part exposed brick, part hand-painted florals. The vibrant colours of the wallpaper are mirrored in stripy tables and chairs, and acres of fruit-coloured cushions. The man behind the modern Portuguese menu is Miguel Castro e Silva, who is something of a celeb chef back in Porto. His enticing cookery sees traditional ingredients reinvented with a modern twist - dishes include: Grilled rib eye steak with cured ham in a bay leaf garlic sauce, and Confit of duck with parmantier potatoes infused with black truffles. The wine list is very reasonable, and cocktails are a must - check out the Tugga Martini (Absolut Vanilla Vodka, Fonseca Ruby Port and lychee juice) and fall in love with a new favourite!
