National Gallery Cafe

About National Gallery Cafe

The National Gallery houses one of the finest collections of Western European paintings in the world as well as several masterpieces, all of them free to admire. Less formal than Crivelli’s Garden restaurant on Level 1, the groundfloor National Gallery Café is a large, open, lively space in which waiters dressed in black serve Modern British snacks, lunch and afternoon tea. On Wednesdays, it’s open until 8pm. (We recommend the cajun spiced chicken breast with onion marmalade on focaccia). Diners are generally a multi-aged mix of regular visitors to the gallery, tourists and those who like to hold meetings here. There are two entrances, one from Trafalgar Square, the other from St Martins Lane.
