There’s nowhere like Links at this end of Commercial Road where corner pubs are the order of the day. It looks the part - all fresh and modern, while its provenance as a Victorian hardware store conversion lends it character. You enter via a small reception leading to a funky American-style cocktail bar. Stairs lead up to a light and airy dining room where wood-panelled walls are white and armchair-style seats are upholstered in burgundy velvet. Fresh posies decorate the tables. The short, changeable menu lists English/Continental fusion dishes, among them a lovely wild mushroom ravioli, and herb-crusted lamb with red wine jus. But that’s not all; off the bar is a courtyard with an archway at the back.
