Talk about an out-of-town luxury dining experience! Set high in the beautiful Chiltern Hills, Danesfield House Hotel and Spa is an Anouska Hempel creation overlooking the Thames between the quintessentially English towns of Marlow and Henley-on-Thames. The more intimate of the two magnificent main dining rooms, The Oak Room is a cream and white-coloured haven of classical refinement serving the traditional yet contemporary cuisine of Michelin-starred Aiden Byrne who, as you'd expect, loves cooking with the very best organic produce. Worth-the-effort-in-getting-here dishes such as roast turbot with foie gras gromesquis and globe artichokes are served on replica 18th century fine English tableware with hand-pierced and hand-fluted edges, set on heavy silver under-plates. Excellent service, and a fine English experience.
