A vintage Noo Yawk steak house that originated the New York strip steak and has been serving up well-aged beef for nearly eighty years. With plank wooden floors, wood-panelled walls, red checkered table cloths, and relaxed atmosphere, Gallagher’s is a little bit speakeasy, a little bit country cafe, a little bit beef locker (steaks are on display -- you can choose your own) and all Manhattan. Name a celebrity and they will have eaten here, had their picture displayed and may even be a regular. Set in western midtown, Gallagher’s is convenient for theatres, as well as business entertaining. The Trophy Room (white table linens here) is the spot for private dining. The menu includes starter of jumbo lump crab cocktail, main course of many steaks, sides are extra, and dessert of apple pie a la mode.
