Charlie’s

About Charlie’s

Charlie’s is a great place to go for lunch or after work, with a buzzy, vivacious atmosphere, and great, well-prepared food. The main influence on the restaurant menu is Italy in all its glory - a range of delicious pastas, fish dishes, and specialities of the house, like medallions of pork with cream and cider sauce. Don’t forget the cappuccino afterwards. Carry on at one of the club nights for night owls. There’s a club menu and license til late.

In-House
Charlie’s
9 Cross Wall
London
EC3N

If you want ’shake your moneymaker’ after a hard day’s graft, then check out Charlie’s. Situated in the heart of the city, midweek this very popular bar offers enough drink, dance music and testostrone to keep the work-hard play-hard city slickers happy. But, Charlies really comes into its element on the weekend when for a small fee, you can groove to the sounds of commercial dance, though the music policy and the crowd get funkier as the night goes on.¬The Habit
65 Crutched Friars
London
EC3

Part of the informidable Davy’s chain, The Habit (could the name of this establishment be a dig at the alcohol consumption of the patrons?) is literally a pub of two halves. The front of this cellar bar features the traditional Davy’s wooden decor and attracts the usual city male worker. But as you move to the back, there is a fabulously bright and welcoming bistro/bar which is frequented by women and men of a more sophisticated nature.
