About Marcus Wareing at The Savoy Grill

Come dine where Churchill dined. For more than a century the world’s great and good have been dining amidst the Savoy Grill’s wood panelling and hushed service. Now, in this century, the Art Deco Grill has been renewed yet again and is bustling and buzzing and chockfull of diners who are thrilled with the updated surroundings, menu and Michelin star. The famous and beloved banquettes have been sleekly kitted out in dark neutral stripes, the gold leaf ceiling adds a note of outrageous luxury, and the beautiful panelling has been restored to its original cognac shades. The menu, under the direction of superchef Marcus Wareing and from the kitchen of head chef Joshua Emett, is modern European in all its glory. There are simple dishes like steak and kidney pudding with oysters or omelette Arnold Bennett, but superbly made and served. Then there are more complex things like king prawn tortellini with lime and chervil and celery emulsion, or roast eye fillet of beef with choucroute, wild mushrooms, pommes cocottes and Madeira truffle. The wine list is catholic in its breadth and the service is orthodox in its excellence..
