Coggeshall is infamous for having a disproportionate amount of murders per capita of population - something to do with the ley lines apparently. However, Baumann’s Brasserie is a welcome provider of good value, well cooked food and is rightly popular with the local inhabitants - although the service can be a little slow and they have a rule about no cigar smoking in the restaurant.
Coggeshall is a pretty village within easy reach of London - book yourself into the nearby White Heart Pub and make a weekend of it.
