You almost have to be a local to know about Macky’s Restaurant and Bar, although we are doing everything we can to change that. Down a flight of stairs you will find a cosy restaurant with bricked floors and wooden tables set into alcoves lit by candles. The patio is most welcome in hot weather. The business crowd predominates at lunch, but evenings are for friendship and romance.
What’s cooking? Menu changes frequently, but we can recommend the warm avocado prawn salad and garlic dressing, and the homemade crabcakes on leaf salad with hoi sin dressing to start. Mains include Scotch fillet steak with sauce au poivre, and honey and ginger breast of duck with pak choi and wild mushrooms. Good wines and puds.
