About 1492 Latin Fusion

As every New World schoolchild knows, 1492 is the year Columbus sailed the ocean blue. The Latin culture met the Native American culture for the first time and we’ve warmed ourselves from the heat of that combustion ever since. Over the centuries the mix has been enriched by Arab and African contributions, and the delicious mix is exactly what 1492 Latin Fusion serves up on a plate. The orange-washed walls, wrought iron chandeliers, tropical plants and Latin American background music help you get into that Latin mood. The food is a million miles from straight Iberian or funky Tex-Mex. This is a cuisine of breadth and subtlety. Try the delicate home-made quesadillas, followed by Pabellon Criollo, the Venezuelan national dish, a great combination of shredded beef, black beans, rice and plantain fritters. For puds we’d suggest something like the classic Argentine dulce de leche pancake. The drinks are delish and the South American wines pack a mouthful of flavour.
