About Brian Turner

Brian Turner has been on that particular TV cooking show so often that someone in your party is bound to ask if they can bring a fiver’s worth of root veg and chocolate and watch the chef transform them into a feast in minutes. How you’ll laugh! Dear me. As it turns out, reality is much better than the box. The Millennium Hotel London Mayfair on Grosvenor Square looks distinguished from the outside, and inside the Brian Turner Mayfair restaurant is sophisticated, even stunning in its quiet good taste. There’s periwinkle coloured upholstery, discreet lighting, flamboyant flower arrangements and sanded glass screens to separate diners into mini-havens of privacy. It was a genius idea for the amiable Yorkshireman to open a restaurant in embassyland because Brian is one of the great ambassadors of traditional British cooking. His signature dish is the rib of Aberdeen Angus with seasoned pudding and shallot jus, but frankly every dish is so delicious, fresh and beautifully presented that each is a tribute to Turner’s talent. Do keep room for afters; the chocolate pudding has been known to render guests speechless...
