About Black Pepper

A friendly, family-run restaurant on Lavender Hill, Black Pepper is filled most nights with Battersea and Clapham locals who enjoy being well cared for. Like the atmosphere, the décor is warm and relaxing, in a Mediterranean way. There is a choice of menus, one is full of enticing wholesome Italian dishes, the other delicious Persian dishes. The deliciously sweet and sour fesenjun is a good example - slices of roasted duck simmered in a special ground walnut and pomegranate sauce. And mirza-gasemi - barbequed aubergine mash mixed with gently fried tomatoes, garlic and rich savoury spices, and served with bread. Everything is freshly cooked on the premises by the Italian and Persian chefs. Good value Italian wine list. Daily specials, and monthly regional cuisine evenings.
