"Don't bother"

A review of The Electric Brasserie by Cathy Banks - Tuesday 2nd of January 2007

Went here on Boxing day with my family to enjoy a post Xmas reunion. Unfortunately it ended up ruining the whole day.

Arrived at 4pm after being told we had the 'last' table only to find the lower restaurant empty aside from one other table. Ordered 4 starter plates which were tiny and tasteless for the price of them. Mains arrived and I was disappointed to see a pile of re-heated slop on my plate. My Shepherds pie was nothing better than a school dinner even the beans i ordered as a side were stuck together and cold. My partners steak was overcooked and tasted so bad we sent it back only to be told by the waitress that it was 'aged' meat. We were not quite sure what to make of this as the meat did indeed taste like it had been left out on the side for a few days before being cooked. Even my mother who ordered a simple prawn sandwich had complaints (tasteless, rubbery) We didn't stop for desserts or coffee and i'm glad as the bill took my breath away.

Had to stand and shout to get attention of staff and girl who brought our bill looked suspiciously sheepish as if she was well aware of how terrible the whole thing was.

In a word: revolting.
