Stayed at the Strand Continental last year in Aug(2008). It was so central and the price of £50 per night was just right. I heard it reopens to the public in July 2009, and I will be returning! The only downside is the stairs, but the good out weights all this. They also have a restaurant- India House, which serves fresh tasty indian. My meal was about £10!! What a deal for the portions. There are no en suite rooms, but the toilets and shower rooms are kept very clean and there are several per floor, so not waiting. Overall, I was very satisfied to stay here..
