"Which is my nearest branch?"
A review of Percy Ingle Bakeries Ltd by Ann Coryton Jameson - Friday 22nd of January 2010
I am a 79-year-old widow who lives in Haggerston E8, and I do my food-shopping on my bike. I go to Percy Ingle for my bread, because it suits me perfectly to put the large loaves of low-GI (is that what they're called?) bread, cut for me in the shop, in my freezer -- for quick toasting slice by slice as I need them. My complaint now is that in all the websites I can find none that would give me a list of all my nearest shops. I've found each one only by chance -- and I'd like to know which of all these shops is the nearest to call in at on the way to-or-from wherever I'm going. I am amazed at how little Percy Ingle advertise their existence. I sometimes talk to people -- even in my area, where they seem to predominate -- who've never heard of Percy Ingle! Where exactly are the 200 branches mentioned on one site? (And, incidentally, I find that the branch called the Haggerston branch is the furthest away from me that I know -- further than Broadway Market, or Mare Street, or Kingsland Shopping Precinct, or Hoxton High Street; all these seem to me nearer than Bethnal Green Road. But perhaps Head Office would prove me wrong about that, by sending a map with them all marked on it!)
