"Unfortunate!"

A review of Clipper by Kate - Thursday 14th of September 2006

A very busy Brick Lane (during the festival over the weekend) called me to go and eat (preferably outside) in one of it's many restaurants. I love Indian food and was very hungry. We didn't have to wait long for a table but had to squash 3 of us on to a very small table for two inside. The meal didn't take that long to come but I think the poppadums were forgotten and came at the same time, quite a feat considering small table. The meal was nice but the bill was disappointing. The pints of Cobra, which tasted very watered down, came to nearly £4 each - we should have specified bottles. We paid for each poppadum and then were charged 50p per head for the chutney & onion salad! The service charge was also included which I hate - the waiters were not attentive or seem to bother at all whether we were happy or not. A miss, I won't be going back.
