"Friendly old school local bikes shop"

This shop is scruffy and not well stocked by comparison with the chains. The workshop looks like it is expanding into the retail space, where there is often a workstand set up. The people are friendly and love their bikes. They are knowledgeable, but don't pretend to know things they don't and are quite happy to learn from their customers. Bring in a nice bike and they will examine it with real enthusiasm. If you order stuff, they get it and ring you fast. If you are bored of the anodyne, halogen lit, mall-style chains like Ecans and ChainReaction, where bikes are sold as accessories rather than means of transport, this is the shop for you: a bit oily and a bit shambolic, but a proper local bike shop..
