"Nice decor and food, shame about the service!"

We had booked for a table of 10 people on Sunday 4th Feb'07. The table was booked for 3 pm but we didn't actually get to sit down until 3.40 pm (there was no effort by the staff to ask the party sitting at out table for an earlier sitting to move until we asked them to do so) and by then we were starving. While we waited for our table we ordered some drinks at the bar and were horrified to be served G&T's in pint glasses, and liquers in tall tumblers without any ice (a bit of a taster of what was to come). When we eventually got to our table we waited quite a while to order and receive our starters and even longer to get our main course, although I have to admit the food wasn't bad. It is such a shame that the chef is being let down by what I consider 'very inexperienced and uninterested staff' with no organisational skills what so ever....it needs a visit from Gordon Ramsay!

We were given 2 free bottles of wine to compensate for the long wait but we would much rather have sat down in time and be treated with good service! Will we go back there? I don't think so, not unless the service is greatly improved!.
