A review of Bhs Ltd by Saddened customer written on Wednesday 30th of June 2010
For the first time today my daughter and I visited the BHS Southport restaurant. As a vegetarian I was surprised and not a little disappointed that there was no vegetarian option in the main meal menu. Not deterred we ordered Jacket potatoes. To say that they were unsatisfactory is a massive understatement. They were burnt, tasteless and not very warm. There can be no excuses, we arrived at noon and the restaurant was not busy.
Despite the quietness, the tables were mostly full of dirty crockery and cutlery, and there was dirty cutlery on the floor underneath the less than clean shelving.
On going to pay the bill I complained and having spoken to the duty manager we were only charged for the drinks. An apology was given.
On using the lift to get to the ground floor we were shocked to overhear three other people had had a similar experience with cold chips and rubbery fish. This is not the way to get or tetain customers. There is a great deal of competition in the food provision trade locally. Standards need to be raised very much higher, or I cannot imagine anyone using this facility other than for a drink.
