If you like recordings of classical music then make sure you visit one of the capital's little gems - tucked away in a side-street next to New Eltham Railway station.

Classical Bargain Records (formerly of Eltham Arcade) is a small but comprehensively stocked outlet which offers second-hand CD's and DVD’s right across the classical range - chamber music, instrumental, song, orchestral, opera and even lighter classics are all represented.

Prices are very reasonable (some as low as £1), and the service is always friendly and enthusiastic. The owner is happy to chat in detail about the merits (or otherwise!) of recordings as collector to collector, or, just as easily, offer considered advice if you are unsure or new to classical music. What’s more there is normally an opportunity to hear before you buy, and very likely a chance to do so with a cup of tea or coffee in your hand !

From time to time, a selection of classical LP’s is also available.... but this does vary depending on circumstances, so if vinyl is your priority it’s better to ring first and check.
