Dear Dr Hancock,

I hope this mail finds you well! In a frivolous moment I decided to write, many many years ago I was a patient of yours and it has plagued me that I never wrote to say how grateful I was for being pointed in the direction of reading the road less travelled…it was profoundly helpful and although not a model of all the lessons it was a grounding experience…thank you!

Something helpful in return I was diagnosed with mono arthritis…small joints in my hands and feet inflamed was very painful was close to being given cortisone injections …up until a year or so ago this had always been the case… I monitored my diet and gradually whittled it down to foods not drink…it was pepper especially peppercorns…it has been out of my diet for a year now …have no pain at all…I give them a try occasionally just to see and always get a reaction.

All the best and thanks again.
