"Look out! The Wind has changed!"

A review of The Windmill by Joanna - Tuesday 27th of March 2007

All change at The Windmill on Cricklewood Broadway. It is now under new ownership and has been totally revamped...but in a good way.

If you're a fan of The Black Lion in Kilburn, you'll like The Windmill. Same person is behind the revamp apparently. Tasteful decor. Gone are the sinister net curtains and flags. Instead, you can now see in (and out - the windows are huge), and it looks much more inviting.

The dining room, like the Black Lion is separate, though not isolated from the main bar. The main bar offers a mish mash of wooden tables and chairs, and some comfortable sofas. Currently work is underway out the back, laying the decking in time for those summer evenings. It's a large space, so it should be great when it's done. There's also a B&B upstairs.

A very relaxing, friendly environment. Great staff: attentive and helpful.

The food is delicious...and the Sunday roast is excellent...generous, and filling.. The veg is fresh, and a choice of chicken, beef, lamb or veggie option, all serverd with a yorkshire pudding and REAL gravy. The bar menu and the dining room meus both offer a good range good quality dishes at reasonable prices. The mussels are particularly good.

A good selection of beers and wines too.

10 out of 10!
