When I visited the Passage Daycentre in the years 1990, as Dutchman, coming in by plane from Paris, France, or by Eurolines bus, from Brussels. My mother, miss Diena van Keulen, I was then living with her in the south of Belgium, near the french border, she still had her bedmate and often arqued me out of the door, because of my several bad habits. (She is missing nowadays and reported dead). First I believe we could still come in to the Passage at 7 o'clock in the morning, we got a coffee and sandwichticket at the door after identifying myself. (do you think identifying oneself could be a bad habit? the british could with some extra bad luck they were an episode of their worldfamous televisionfeuilleton "the Avengers". (and hopefully not, hurt us), if I didn't have any money, no 10 pence, I could still always obtain a coffee, and a sandwich. At first there still were saucers on the tables in use by the smokers as astrays. That was still rather social, I found, later on the smokers could still enjoy their habit outside in the patio at the back in the basement, for one had to go down a flight of stairs, before entering. There were nice cookies to eat and lots of sandwiches, with cheese or eggs. I always loved the English breakfasts, and in the Passage St.Vincent's I loved the poached eggs, the fried bacons, the baked beans (hot white beans in tomato sauce), I was thrilled with the oat meal porridges, sad that I could not get a fixed mailaddress and have English income-support as homeless person, probably because of the way I was mistrusted. I would nearly mistrust myself, after the psychiatric "therapy" I had been given, in the Netherlands several years before that and by the police, or anyone with a proper income. .
