"Please re-think your process of employment"

After taking a telephone interview and not passing I am extremely disappointed at how Estee lauder choose there employees.

I failed because I did not know enough about the history of the company and when asked how to sell a product I flustered (my fault I know), I was given the option to read a bit about the company and to call back. I said no because I had been trying to apply all day and was in work the next day so didn't think I would have the opportunity again.

My point is this:

I have 22 years experience with sales and customer service, I have a degree in French and European Studies, I know the beauty industry inside and out having 8 years Managerial experience. I have an excellent sales record and have built strong relationships with all my clients.

Surly seeing I was educated with experience, it could have been noted ,that given 15 mins to read up on Estee Lauder I would have known about the Companies history.?

As for the selling the products yes i did mess up but in my defence, I have some knowledge of the products because I have used them but for me to sell to customers I would want to know that product inside and out, ingredients and how it works ect. Just like i do with my current employment, selling Aveda, Crystal Clear ect.

I feel so insulted, that with my experience I wasn't even give a chance of an interview.

I sell on a daily basis, face to face, over the phone and via email.

The reason I chose Estee Lauder was because having lived in Paris and tried all the top brands this is my favourite by far and it would have been an honour to work for this company.

Selling is all about passion for your product its such a pity you don't look for this in your employment process.

I get told all the time I look young for my age this is thanks to Estee lauder night repair serum, so I suppose all is not lost.

c'est la vie!
