I do enjoy the increase of snooker coverage available now on Eurosport but it would be nice if Mike Hallett didn't constantly give us his opinion of whether a player would, or would not, be successful in the shot they are about to make. It is with good reason that BBC commentators avoid this risky practice; they manage to not look like total nobs when they inevitably are proved wrong. A state which unfortunately Mr Hallett regularly fails to achieve.
Would someone also inform Mr Hallett that snooker balls are not 'chipped' into pockets. Chipping a ball into a hole is a term more appropriately aligned with the sport of golf, where presumably if called upon to commentate on an event, he would undoubtedly term driving as 'breaking off' and finding the rough as being 'tight on cush'. Probably..
