I worked at the British Council in Spring Gardens and other locations in London In the 1970`s and thoroughly enjoyed it,I lived,at the time in Bromley,Kent, and commuted daily from Bromley South ,and then just walked across Trafalgar Square to my office in Spring Gardens,I worked in TATD Dept.,doing police training for students from Commonwealth Countries, working together with the then OPA or IGCP at the FCO,Mike McCoun and his deputy, and I really loved doing this job,for personal reasons I had to resign and move to Germany,to work for the MOD (Army),until I retired, three years ago,I still live in Germany, and love it here. When in the UK I always visit London, and pop into BC Spring Gardens, although most people I knew are not there anymore.I will always regret having to leave the BC and it`s work in general. My best friend at BC was a wonderful lady called Sheena Foye a very camp, stagestruck lady, that I will never forget........
