"Pathetic customer service"

Never before have I experienced such dire customer service!

I walked through the doors of Southside, Wandsworth. I looked at a few pairs of trainers. None really to my liking until I saw a pair in the junior section (I wear a size 2/3 shoe so I can purchase in this section with ease) - I picked up a pair of Adidas which I wanted to try on. Nobody was around to serve me (the shop was not busy at the time) I checked the size myself and knew I wanted to try it on. I sat down to take my own shoe off. Instantly a man stood in front of me saying (in very poor English - I had to ask him to repeat himself as I could not understand him. Or was it disbelief?) "you cannot try the shoes on"

What? I have never heard that you cannot try shoes on in a shoe shop! How do you know if you want to purchase those shoes? I put the shoe back .

My friend only minutes before had tried on shoes and was assisted by the same man who said I wasn't allowed to try them on.

I had socks on! Why was I treated differently?

Upon asking the man in question's colleague, he looked puzzled for a moment but then agreed with him saying it is company policy. I'm sure it is company policy to chase sure sales out of the door, never to return! I'll never go back there! There are other stores who want my money!.
